Two of the more scenic states in the country came together to create a novel of a project. Florida’s Zaymatic and California’s Bhrama Bull connected for A Letter to … EP. The slickness of Zaymatic’s cadence meshes with Bull’s smooth, sunshine-tinted instrumentals perfectly to create an unforgettable project.
This project is very personal to the vocalist. Each track should be listened to as a handwritten personally delivered by Zaymatic himself. All aspects of his life are put on full display, the DNA of his experiences and the emotions that come along with the constant ups-and-downs of life are ingrained in this project.
Take track five, “The Pass, Future, and Present”, for example. The stories Zaymatic presents on this particular song are gritty and brutally honest. Tales of a young artist hustling to have their music heard while dealing with a declining mental health are delivered with such passion and grit, you feel like you were standing right next to that young artist dealing with similar struggles.
These stories wouldn’t have a canvas if it wasn’t for the help of Bhrama Bull’s silky production. The drums he is able to conjure up are otherworldly. Each beat on A Letter To … has such a uniqueness compared to one and other it’s almost unrealistic they could come from a single person. Therein lies the magic of Bull’s instrumentals, they are textured and fresh all while paying homage to his west coast upbringing.
Zaymatic and Bhrama Bull teamed up to create a sonically pleasing therapy session. Their EP A Letter To … is the songwriters most personal project, detailing so many relationships and emotions on one project seems exhausting but Zaymatic approaches the difficult task with amazing eaze.
