Arkansas-bred artist YB has shared a new EP called JUDAS. A potent, well-crafted set of 3 songs that follows up his recent album ‘WINGS OF AN ANGEL [Deluxe]’, JUDAS makes for a versatile, dynamic listen that draws influence from both hip-hop and R&B. Vocally, YB reaches new heights as he transitions smoothly between hard-hitting rap flows and an atmospheric melodious delivery with ease. His songwriting remains focused throughout as well, as he injects memorable inflections and vocal lines that linger in the listener’s head long after the project is complete. Our personal favourite on the EP is “ICE COLD”, a powerful, infectious song that finds YB delivering commanding verses atop the crisp, buoyant production. “YOU DON’T KNOW” conveys a feeling of victory as he discusses the trials and tribulations he has had to overcame in life, to a potent effect.
