WIFIGAWD has stayed true to the sounds of the Soundcloud era and is evolving it into the mainstream’s attention. “Big Dawg Volume 4” is a mixture of innovative underground producing with that soundcloud “phonk” wave from way back into a developed form. Using such old, pleasing samples with the type of underground production we’ve come to know as hard, grimey, and best of all, free. Listening to the project I kept thinking id here that beloved Dj Smokey tag. What impressed me the most is the way he was able to express his unique style in many versatile ways. “Lord Of The Fly” is that PHONK sound he resurrected from 2012. Then he even includes R&B influenced tracks like “Gotta Count” and “Drop It” that stray towards more thug-romantic themes. And on each track he showcases that layered voice from the gods that rides beats so cleanly. It’s time people stop sleeping on a vet like WIFIGAWD.
