Born and raised in Augusta, GA, his interest in hip hop was sparked during his middle school years by artists like Gucci Mane and OJ the Juiceman. From beat boxing in the lunchroom to hitting the studio, Puerto Reefa’s passion for music has been unwavering.
Growing up in a household with parents battling drug addiction was not easy for Puerto Reefa. He had to fend for himself as early as age 11. Despite these challenges, he managed to graduate high school and attend college in Marietta, GA. However, it was the music of Boosie and Webbie that helped him get through his saddest moments. It was only after discovering the music of Kevin Gates that he decided to pick up his pen and get back into the studio.
It was a chance meeting at a wedding that Puerto Reefa was introduced to Tra Porter, the Co CEO of Atlanta-based recording label CVE The Label. This encounter was a turning point in his career. With his unique blend of southern rap and trap beats, Puerto Reefa is quickly rising in the ranks and making a name for himself in the hip hop scene.
