Straight out the south comes “Tha Playa$ Manual” from RAMIREZ, perfect for the coming sunny season. The groovy phonks on this project really appeal to the ear and fit the summer vibe. RAMIREZ has always used a sound that includes mixes of older music and immaculate, picture painting lyricism. This style from the west coast is influenced by 90’s funk music beautifully fused with gangsta rap. On the other spectrum of the album is the hard, grimey sound pioneered by artists like him, Suicide Boys, Germ and more. As expected from the G*59 signed artist.
Within the 15 songs on the album, RAMIREZ worked with Pouya, ShakeWell, and Night Lovell who he usually kills it with. And with the biggest contribution to the album is Rocci who’s pleasing voice adds a whole other sound to the album resembling that of Tame Impala. Tune into a low-rider anthem from the other side of the country.
