Playco Soul Sets The Tone With Debut EP “PS1”

Playco Soul took to Instagram a month ago to announce his long-awaited debut EP PS1. After releasing a plethora of singles over the past couple of years, the Florida artist gifted us with his first full project. PS1 is a moody, introspective look into Playco’s approach to his craft.

Playco Soul has been cultivating this EP for what seems like an eternity. His Soundcloud is filled with his melodic approach to trap with tracks dating back to 2019. Deep cuts like “Want Me 2” and “Daydream” act as the blueprint for the songs on PS1. Soul’s sound seems evolved and polished on this latest release, PS1 is the culmination of years of dedication to creating his own lane.

Playco Soul’s secret weapon is his production. He produced every song on this EP besides the intro and outro (The intro was produced by astroboy and the outro was done by Numbernine). He is so tuned in to his own sound that the cohesiveness of this project seems so natural.

The 7-track EP goes by way too quickly. Each track introduces us to a new side of a multi-dimensional songwriter. Tracks like “Digimon” prove that Soul has a natural knack for writing amazing and memorable hooks. The melody on “Easy” is another highlight, Playco’s bouncy approach to delivering his lyrics adds a rich texture to PS1 that you won’t find anywhere else.

Overall, PS1 is a fantastic introduction to Playco Soul’s sound. The songs on here blend into each other to create a steady flow of beautifully crafted songs that stick with you. His authenticity shines and creates a connection with the listener that makes you press play again and again.
