“PICCOLO” is the first song to drop off of AKTHESAVIOR and Leon Fanourakis‘s upcoming joint project “Flatbush Yen“. With AK being from Flatbush and Leon coming from Yokohama, this is the first ever full-length American X Japanese hip hop collaboration. AKTHESAVIOR has had an impressive career as part of The Underachievers and has begun to develop himself individually. Taking on solo music, fashion, modeling, and even fine jewelry.
AK – ” Ever since my early teenage years Japanese culture , anime and fashion (Bape) had a big influence on me & shaped me to who I am today. “
All this came into play when creating the song and music video for “PICCOLO” with Leon Fanourakis who mostly speaks japanese. For the music video they filmed half of it in Flatbush then flew over to Yokohama for the other half. This genuine connection of similar lifestyles and music is a great example of how art is created. The song was produced by Yung Xansei and the video was directed by Jonah Schwartz.
“Flatbush Yen” comes out on April 3
