The breakout is here for Alabama-born, Sacramento-raised rapper OMB Peezy. After being signed to E-40‘s “Sick Wid It” label from hits like “Lay Down,” Peezy dropped two hard projects but none like this. “In The Meantime” is a seven track album produced by Georgia native DrumDummie. It’s not everyday we see a project produced by only one person, but the chemistry between both of these young talents was like bread and butter. Consider this project a trap gospel one, with every bar coming straight from the heart, and the keyboard-heavy melodies giving it that extra punch. You can feel the trials and tribulations in almost every bar from his personal and legal problems, to his recent successes. Peezy has been under the mainstream’s radar for quite some time but is destined to break through with the release of this new body of work. If you’re new to him, trust, he’s worth the listen.
