KidWay’s Diversity Shines on “ForEver”

ForEver is the third ful- length project from Florida artist KidWay. The tracklist weaves in and out of blaring 808s and noisy synths all while still finding time for potent songwriting and moments of vulnerability. KidWay crafted a consistent yet versatile project that keeps you on the edge of your seat through all 14 tracks.

The first thing you notice on ForEver is songwriting. The concepts KidWay conjures up are imaginative and enticing. A song like “Super Man” is a stand-out on this project for that reason. Over a cheerful instrumental, KidWay lays out a poetic hook where he expresses an undying appreciation for his partner. “Might have to change the world because they left a mess for you” is a sweet token of love and one of the many quotable lyrics on this project.

ForEver plays as a resume for KidWay’s flexibility as a vocalist, the Florida rapper can find a pocket in any tempo and craft an infectious melody. “WakeUp” is one side of this coin, a hectic and high-energy banger, playing this song at anything below full volume would be criminal. On the other side, we have a song like “Feel”. This track cracks open the door to allow the listener to peak at the full range of emotions KidWay can tap into. “I’ve been walking around this bitch with all my lights out, my eyes were open but I feel like I got sight now”, a bar like this shows a certain introspection that anyone can relate to.

In just over 30 minutes, ForEver shows all sides of an artist and their creative process. KidWay is able to create moody, melodic rap while also writing upbeat, catchy hooks that can immediately catch anyone’s ear. Stream the full project below;
