Florida act JASMINEGOLD have shared a new single called “friendly fire”. This diverse, outside-the-box cut showcases their creative abilities with poignant, vibrant soundscapes that neatly combine influences from lo-fi, experimental, and more. Containing two beat switches that neatly tie the song into three engaging parts, “friendly fire” is an engaging new release from the duo, who recently released their well-received project Serpent.
Elegant reversed keys and grooving, lo-fi percussion open the song, before transitioning into a glitchy, hypnotic soundscape that brings in a pulsating, powerful energy. In the last section, nocturnal, raw keys, and crisp percussion give the song a classic southern/ Florida hip-hop feel, making for an interesting twist at the end of the single. Vocally, JASMINEGOLD simply kill it as they weave together dynamic flows at a rapid pace, while injecting their delivery with some smooth melodies.
The latest from Florida’s JASMINEGOLD, “friendly fire” is a dark, lo-fi-tinged track that has us excited for whatever may be coming next from them.
