New York is home to some pretty talented, upcoming lyricists in the game. We specifically look at Rochester’s Jaezerodahero and his strong message “Hurt Yourself”. The 19 year old just started rapping seriously about 2 years ago as music was forever an outlet for him to express himself freely. At just 2 years old he suffered from lead poisoning, which led to some speech disabilities. It was hard for him to speak well and he was constantly made fun of so he felt the only things that understood him was music and his mom. Eminem also helped him cope with the bullies, reminding himself that he can’t care what people think because they have not one clue what he’s been through.

More inspirational artists like XXXtentacion, Motley Crue, 50 Cent, Kurt Kobain and more helped to fuel Jae’s confidence. “Hurt Yourself” was made as a strong warning that whatever haters plan to do to you they can only harm themselves because YOU are more than your experiences. It’s a vibing track but really holds a great message for those out there in music that experience what Jae goes through. Never give up! Stream on all platforms.
