On May 21st, 1972, a legend was born. The New York rapper, The Notorious B.I.G,(aka Biggie Smalls, Biggie) born Christopher Wallace, would have been 46 today. His voice influenced an entire generation and helped build some of our favorite artists today such as Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, 50 cent, and more.
He tragically passed away at the age of 24 and left everyone speechless. His murder is still unsolved and many of the details of the case are still a mystery. Even though he died young, his legacy still lives on through his music. In 2009, the movie Notorious dropped which told the story of how the rapper came to fame and how he maintained it throughout his lifetime.
His albums such as Ready To Die and Life After Death continue to be played today. Songs such as “Big Poppa”, “Suicidal Thoughts” and “Kick In The Door” never fail to hit the radio and land in movies/ TV shows.
From rapping in the streets of New York to changing the lives of millions, Biggie still lives on in our hearts and through his music.
