For the lucky few, being a triple threat hip-hop musician is a rare blessing with enormous potential. This exact concept applies to West Orange, New Jersey producer, artist, and mix engineer Corbonnabeat. Raised in a musical family and having played instruments like the piano, guitar, drums, flute, and violin early on, Corb made a transition from lessons to beat-making around 2015. After beginning to take music seriously in 2018, he dropped out of college and created his own studio “More Time Studios” in Patterson, New Jersey with long-time artist/neighbor Lord the Icon. This studio was home to the recording process of Corb’s project “More Time, Vol.1” as well as countless other rap acts in the area.
This project features 17 self-produced songs with over 10 artists spread across the mixtape. Fortunately, Corb’s ear and attention to detail on this tape was clear when he compiled all tracks and still managed to create a cohesive rap project. It featured bass-heavy hard-hitting tracks like “Procedure, If You Know Me, and Today!” as well as smoother instrumentals like “Baby Bottle, To the Moon, and Good Girls No Fun”. Now a graduate of the SAE Institute in New York City in Audio Technology, Corbonnabeat is looking to make a name for himself with More Time, Vol. 1 and upcoming collaborations.
