Brickbanshrty released his EP “#BLOOD#OF#ALICE” recently, which is bubbling underground. And as it should, this EP perfectly represents what a plugg/ambient EP should be. The overall production value is insane, and brickbanshrty’s performance is just as good, if not better. Fans of Sickboirari/Black Kray would love this EP. From the music itself to the song titles, this EP is very Black-Kray-inspired/Esque.
The beats and brickbanshrty’s vocals fight for being the most heard sound for the entirety of the EP, but this unspoken competition is what uplifts each aspect of the EP. The two critical components of the songs are fighting for the better part, but both pieces are unique. It doesn’t matter if the listener focuses on the beat or his voice; either way, they’ll be satisfied.
The best song of the EP is definitely between the opening and closing tracks. “CASTLES & DRAGONS” is a slow-paced goth-plugg song, and “#FENCE#OF#SIN” is still slow but higher in energy. But the opening song’s lower energy eases the listener into the rest of the EP. So is setting the stage perfectly more important than ending off on a great note? Here’s your answer: it doesn’t matter because both songs are arguably better than the other.
