If you’ve never come across Blake Yung or his music, here’s your chance to get familiar. After receiving a guitar for his 15th birthday, his transition from sports to music sparked a soon to be love for creating music and quickly shaped his life. As of late, the South Carolina artist has been making huge moves to gear up for a strong end to the year. His EP “I’m Fine,” landed many eyes in April as well as his previous single “Insomnia” with Mwelly in July. Although fully independent, his own label/clothing brand “NuWave” has been progressing along with the sound of his music. Yung has been on fire these past few months and looks to be dropping something crazy soon beginning with his latest single “Dronez”.
The track was blessed with stellar production by the fellow Columbia, South Carolina sound wizard Supah Mario. Having production credits with superstars like Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, and Young Thug, Mario seamlessly executed the perfect beat for Blake to showcase his talent. This rare process included sending accapellas to Mario which he used to build the beat around. It reminds us the perfect soundtrack for the trailer of action movie. Throughout the song, Yung flows about his inner thoughts and feelings, as well as the power needed to face his fears. With his full project “Leader of the Lost Souls” set to release sometime in the near future, there’s plenty for old and new Blake fans to get hyped about.
