blacknemo’s prolific 2022 is moving right along with the release of his latest project The Young Giuseppe EP. At just four songs, it is an all too brief look at where the Houston MC is at mentally and the direction he wants to take his music.
“The inspiration to create this project came from me wanting to make an EP full of love songs, and around the time I had started it, I was not in the mood to write about love,” said blacknemo. “I was dealing with problems that were distracting me from the positive sides of a relationship, so I decided to use this project as a way to express the feelings I have experienced while also setting the foundation of music that I will be bringing to the world.”
The Young Giuseppe EP follows blacknemo’s first project Today Was My Excuse, which hit streaming services this past May. He has also dropped three singles in 2022.
“In 2020, I decided to start applying myself more as an artist, so I got a computer, Pro Tools, a microphone, and some headphones to start mastering my art,” he explained. “It’s been a good few years that I’ve been working on delivering a sound that is up to my standards, but now I’m ready to put my foot on the gas.”
The young artist has some big moves in store for himself, including participating in an independent artist showcase tournament. He believes that winning the contest will give him the power to invest more into himself as an artist.
The Young Giuseppe EP does a great job of laying out a foundation as to where blacknemo’s sound has come from and where it is going to go. His relentless workrate is setting him up for success, and it’s only a matter of time until we see him at the top.
