Florida emcee Bass Santana is back and better than ever in his new video for the single “Go Up”. This high-octane single continues Santana’s hot streak of unforgettable singles that the artist has been releasing over the course of 2022. On “Go Up”, Santana finds the perfect balance between nostalgia and innovation, the instrumental has elements from the Florida scene while his vocals and flow sound fresh. It’s all wrapped together with an infectious hook, this single stands out compared to the others dropped by Santana earlier this year.
“Go Up” is a refreshing departure from Santana’s usual sound. This single feels more lighthearted than previous releases from the Members Only representative. What really makes this single stand out is Santana’s vocal performance, he is able to switch between this gravel-like texture on the hook to a more cartoonish performance for the verses. Between his all-over-the-place approach to his flow and the wonky sonic elements that build the instrumental, “Go Up” is an anthem built to be put on repeat and played at extreme volumes.
“Go Up” is accompanied by a WesHype2.0-directed video that draws on themes from The Purge horror film series. LED-laced masks parade around Santana in a dark atmosphere providing a fitting backdrop to the dark tones that run through “Go Up”.
