From way across the pond, comes Alex Denney a.k.a FRECKS. A self taught, 19 year old artist who reigns from South London (Bexhill). He studied graphic art and art design at Bexhill College and plans to utilize his passions to create a successful brand that will develop clothing, art, and music. FRECKS has been drawing since he was a kid, taking his craft more seriously and making it digital, since the beginning of 2017. “My main motivation and mindset has been the same since I started; I try to create as much as I can and only do work that I enjoy. I don’t do art for any other reason besides the enjoyment and the opportunities that come along with it.” When asked about his influences, he was very sincere and exclaimed: “Any artist would be lying if they said they didn’t take inspiration from others but it’s the way it gets translated into their piece that makes it your own.” I absolutely agree. Of course, your art will have elements of yourself but it is also influenced by your environment, experiences, etc. if not, where would one garner inspiration from?
He takes pride in mastering different techniques, then filters them and applies it to his own technique, which he admits, he is still developing. I feel with his outlook and hard work, he has the potential to become a master of his craft(s). Through his passion for drawing, he has been able to do some digital art for rappers like Lil Pimp and Lil Filth. He still currently works with Lil Filth, working a flyer for one of his up and coming shows. @yungconnors, on twitter, and FRECKS have begun conceptualizing possible avenues they can take their brand FEATÜRED and have begun producing experimental merchandise that appeals to an audience similar to to him and his associate(s).
