Abby Oyesam is a high school student from Kansas City, Missouri. The young artist has been in the creative process for a while now. Its at the point where she cant remember when she didn’t make art. “I’ve always enjoyed drawing but within the last several years I’ve made an earnest effort to create every day, to make progress” she says. With high standards to make each piece better than the last the growth from this artist has been sensational. Just doing art daily has changed her being as a whole. “Training myself to make portraits has made me more patient and disciplined than I would be otherwise“.
When asked what are her favorite mediums to work in she replied “graphite for the control it gives and watercolor for its looseness“. Now Abby like all great artist create a connection from their work itself to their daily lives. She states her art gives her the opportunity to analyze the physiognomy of the people and world around her. “The unique details in a place or a person’s face give me inspiration to create unique artworks” she says. Drawing is her way to express her perspective of the worlds beauty without using words. Lucky for us she plans to keep creating for as long as possible.
