There’s no excuse to making art and Hailshino is an example of that idea. This young creative from Camden New Jersey is currently entering his sophomore year at Rowan University, he’s majoring in Film and minoring in creative writing. When coming upon artist we usually ask what does their work aim to say and he let us know his art has no boundaries. He states “I keep my mind outside the box. If you can make anything with your imagination why have restrictions?” Its interesting to see how school effects the creative process, as he sees it colleges and schools try to reconstruct this process especially for the newer generations. So he reminds himself to be as free as possible with his work and school wont help him on the creative process which is the foundation an artist uses to create amazing pieces. Hailshino states “There is no right way to draw, or rap, or take pictures. Especially when you follow an aesthetic. So overall I try to show people there is no such thing as bad art.” and its the truth.
A few of his favorite artist that influence him include JMP “James Pereira”, Dexter Navy, Ian Woods, XXXTENTACION, Asap Rocky, Denzel Curry, Jaden Smith, Tyler The Creator, and the AWGE team. Growing up under these artist and taking in the teaching his come to understand you cant form to how the world wants you to be. He states “Your value is more important than anything, and that as long you stay genuine and truthful to who you are, good things will come your way.” As an artist having your head on your shoulders and keeping your A game 100 is important. Listening to the development of an artist during their career is very insightful and Hailshino thinks a lot for him has changed within this year. The importance of networking is a main focus and he sees it as 50% of his craft which must be done. He states “Getting into this type of industry regarding music, and label companies I have to be careful with who I work with, and make sure I am doing something I actually want to do. Out of everything I want to make sure my morals are where they should be.” this is the attitude that makes greatness into excellence.
The future is key and the now is important, Hailshino has big plans that include a blog which will soon drop following his clothing line. He has a big passion for helping people follow theirs dreams and wants to motivate creatives with this energy. He believes people think they are subjugated to find what we call “real jobs” and not create something of their own. He has a vision and he makes it clear he isn’t slowing down for anyone. “I want to make sure every decision I make in my career is positive and will always inspire friends, family and the upcoming generation.” we have to hand it to hailshino for staying true to his nature and pushing forward.
