This week we are excited to bring you a talented creative from Ontario, Canada that goes by the name dripscene. Dabbling in fine arts for almost 7+ years shes formed her own style incorporating other artist such as rappers into her sick graphite work for the past 3 years. The name comes from the idea of her using tears and drips in her work which is highly creative.  She keeps the subject of the art focused on the foreground leaving the background simple enough to add the touch of realism into her work. “I spend a lot of time and detail on the eyes because I feel like that is where the most emotion comes from.” she says. The outcome of the finished piece speaks for itself and conveys a range of emotions, the viewer can interpret it into how they see it.

When asked what her work aims to say she states “To sum it up it basically is me showing my pain through my pieces, when create i let go of my depression and anxiety, it feels like I am crying, letting everything go.  I also think that people look up to rappers as these hard, non-emotional beings but when I look at them I still see them as human who go through the same struggles as the rest of us.“. Its amazing to see the meaning behind some of the hard work artist such as dripscene put into their work, just like the artist that inspire her the idea of these rappers we look up being the same as any regular hard working person just makes it even more unreal. You can literally see the pain, emotion, and hope in her work which is what she’s aiming for.

When asked who or what are her biggest influences shes states one person is Chuck Close who paints massive hyper realistic paintings. “I remember him being the reason I wanted to start drawing in the first place, I told myself that I would be able to make art like that one day” she says. Another big influence that has motivated her is the artist Jaseh Onfrey know as XXXTentacion. She states “I can’t even being to explain the amount of passion he’s driven me to put into my work.  He’s made me believe in myself and to always go after my dream.  I’ve never had somebody move me and inspire me as much as he has.” The way this artist has developed her career is something we should all take into consideration when becoming great, it takes time. Shes been creating for almost seven years and is currently seeing a mass amount of appreciation in her work.
