If there’s two words to describe up and coming artist Amias, it’s hidden gem. If you were lucky enough to stumble upon him before, you know what the hype is about. If you haven’t, here’s your chance to get tuned. At age 10, he began teaching himself how to make music and it wasn’t until January 2020 that he’s been doing it full time. Just a month later, he dropped his debut EP “Solstice” and followed it up mid-July with a rejuvenated “Solstice 2”. This project brought a particular favorite in the single, 2 Racks.
According to the artist himself, the entire second half of the song was completed while blacked out from an outing with his friends. As crazy as it sounds, he as well as his listeners couldn’t complain about the end result. The song was also produced by Amias, bringing in a smooth trap beat to pair perfectly with the melodic hook and verses. He draws much of his original musical influence from John Mayer and later found his creations inspired by artists like Partynextdoor (who he credits for much of his melodic sound). Now two projects in, Amias tells us he’s still sitting on tons of music but putting his efforts into more EP’s and singles until album time. In his current trajectory, there’s much reason to believe he’ll be a bubbling name by the end of next year.
