86obi is a new artist I’ve recently come across and one that caught my eye upon watching his music video for “OKWiT.” Coming from Connecticut where hip-hop is not known to be prevalent, he’s found his sound this past year and managed to gain gradual eyes inside and outside his state. Uninterested in money or fame, his main goal with music as he describes it is, “I just wanna change one persons life, perspective or their mood if going through bad/sad times and I’ll know I’m doing the right thing.” Moving to Miami in 2019 to be a full-time music video director himself, he executed a captivating video for this song shot by Eli Pasternack as he strolled and caught a great vibe with his friends/family in the city. Throughout the visual, 86obi demonstrates his ability to make catchy flows and melodies as well as the creativity he possesses as an artist all around.
