Florida veteran Bass Santana has been on a tear this year. In the past month, he has released three incredible singles through his Soundcloud. His baritone voice cuts through on these three songs, each song highlighting a different skill Santana possesses as a writer and vocalist. Whether it’s changing up his flow for the umpteenth time or dropping eyebrow-raising bars, Bass Santana always leaves you wanting more.
The first song released was “raww dog freestyle”, this track focuses on Santana’s lyrical ability. Producer Roy P created a classic Florida-influenced instrumental and the Members Only rapper ran with it. “Oh the block too hot, it’s like three sixes mixed with Charizard” is a perfect example of just how witty Santana can be. Mixing fantasy with reality, he is able to draw you into his world and craft an irresistible melody that you find yourself lost in.
Bass Santana’s second release is “worry bout me (fuzzy)”. Here he creates an introverted anthem and proves there is more to his pen than just bars. We see Santana craft an earworm of a hook and create a down-to-earth atmosphere for a song that sounds fitting in a crowd or through your headphones. The melancholic feel of this track is met with the raw energy provided by Santana’s flow. This man has one of the keenest ears for melodies in the game, the way he is able to seamlessly switch between several flows within a three-minute run time is one of the few widely impressive attributes he holds as an artist.
The third track is the bouncy banger, “bloody cup” featuring Mudd Baby. This track feels like a culmination of the previous two releases. You see Santana craft a song worthy of topping the charts without sacrificing the high-energy, sometimes aggressive, deliveries we’ve come to know from the artist.
Over these three releases, we see Bass Santana showcase the multitude of avenues he can go down while behind the microphone. Whether he’s making a song meant to break your car speakers or one to soundtrack a solo walk through the neighborhood, Santana’s music can fit into any environment.
